The Reasons For Prostitution

I am not sure whether I am in this industry – and happy to be so - because of my views or whether I hold my views because I am happy to work in this industry. It is difficult to remember what kind of person you were many years ago and what views and beliefs you held. But in any case, I see little difference between a man getting laid as a reward for spending money taking a woman out and buing dinner and maybe buying her a handbag or shoes when they go out shopping, and a man just paying the same amount of money for a woman to have sex with him. And nor do I see any difference between the women concerned because I understand that women are driven by the need for security – which in this world comes from money – and men are driven by sex and status.

Poverty may drive a woman into both types of situation, though exchanging sex for handbags and a night out I would think is more likely to happen with young attractive "socialites" in developed countries rather than in the developed world or with women in more straitened circumstances. To me, a girl who escorts Malaga visitors for cash is not really any different to a party girl who "puts out" in exchange for gifts, nice trips, and access to places and circumstances that she would no have under her own steam or without her "boy friend".

In some places in the world of course being an escort or prostitute is still illegal. The exchange of money would therefore break the law. However transactional sexual relationships, I assume, would not been seen as illegal in the same way.

As a professional these relationships can be a concern when it comes to sexually transmitted infections because the partners, I assume, are very rarely faithful to each other. Sex with an escort in most places and in most cases is much much safer. The majority of working girls take great care with their sexual health and are concerned for that of their clients. In my opinion I would guess that this would be especially true when the relationship involves an age, power and money gap, usually to the disadvantage of younger women.
